Tony graduated in May, 2018 from the University of Wisconsin – Parkside, with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a Minor in Web Development, and certificates in Cyber Security and Unix System Administration. “It was only just a few more courses for each, and they are extremely valuable skills to have.” he says.
Tony started working for the App Factory in 2017, while he was enrolled in Software Engineering I . His project was reworking the App Factory website, and he’s been working on projects such as On The Radar, Transit App, and the CCSC organization’s Midwest Conference website.
Tony likes both front end and back end programming, and full stack developing. His favorite languages are PHP, C++, and Java. He’s really starting to like writing web applications with Vue and Vuetify frameworks.
His ideal career after graduation is becoming a Software Engineer, or Developer, or working with Cyber Security.
One of his favorite experiences was working as a Media and Website Intern for the College of Business, Economics, and Computing (CBEC.) He found a passion with public speaking and performing outreach for CBEC. Tony also mentioned that he can’t stress enough, how important it is that more people get involved in computer science and the STEM fields.
